About Me
My background is in science, although I’ve received another kind of education in “real life” by raising and homeschooling a large family. Because I’ve had to recuperate from health problems several times, being on the sidelines and doing a lot of daydreaming has become second nature to me.
A number of years ago, I was working with my younger kids on a creative writing unit. That’s when I suddenly caught the “writing bug”, myself. Happily, I’ve never recovered.
Most of my stories fall into the genre of paranormal/fantasy romance, although a few other projects-in-the-works feature medieval fantasy, urban fantasy, and paranormal regency.
I’m drawn to writing about paranormal beings, like the troubled vampires and secretive Mysterium who appear in the pages of my Mysterium Secret series. There’s so much rich material just waiting to be explored! Character. Conscience (however darkened). Emotions. Choices. What it means to be human – or not.
Besides writing books, I also love reading, drinking coffee, eating chocolate, sketching, practicing calligraphy, making all kinds of handcrafts, and whipping up my own recipes for breads and cakes (this is a handy pastime when you have lots of kids).
I write from the coast of northern New England with its quiet, natural environment of evergreens, seagulls, and misty coves.
